Alumni Open House/ Annual Meeting Recap

A lively crowd gathered at the Alumni Center Open House on June 5. Later that evening, at the Alumni Association's Annual Meeting in Jenkins Theater, five new Board members were approved and the new slate of officers was confirmed. A new tradition was also launched with the presentation of the first-ever Alumni Volunteer Awards.

Department of Nursing Hosts Annual Distinguished Alumni Event

The Department of Nursing held its third annual distinguished alumni gala event on October 23, 2014. Sponsored by Sanofi Pharmaceuticals, the evening was held at 45 Bistro – The Marshall House. Dr. Anita Nivens opened the evening with a short presentation on recent updates from the nursing department. Catherine Sass, MBA, Pharm D. made an interesting presentation on current trends related to the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease.

Armstrong Atlantic State University sophomore Carolina Prats-Millan was named the ITA Division II Women's Tennis National "Player To Watch," announced by the organization on Tuesday at the annual awards banquet.

Armstrong Graduate Named Teacher of the Year

Bynikini Frazier, a first grade teacher at Hodge Elementary School in Savannah, was honored as the 2015 Savannah-Chatham Public Schools Teacher of the Year at a special reception on February 4.

Armstrong to Host Georgia Science Bowl on February 22

Armstrong Atlantic State University will host the 2014 Georgia Science Bowl on Saturday, February 22. This event, which is free and open to the public, will attract qualifying high school and middle school teams from across the state.

Cameron Clements Is New Alumni Program Coordinator

Armstrong Atlantic State University recently named Cameron R. Clements as the Alumni Program Coordinator. In her new position, Clements will work with the Director of Alumni Development to provide a broad range of engagement activities for Armstrong’s 30,000+ alumni. She will support the planning and execution of various alumni-based events and programs.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade 2014

Join the Office of Multicultural Affairs as we celebrate a legend and participate in the 2014 MLK Day Parade in the City of Savannah. Registered Participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a breakfast bag, and lunch. Alumni Join Veterans Salute

The City of Hinesville hosted a Veterans Salute parade and festival on Saturday, Nov. 16. Armstrong Alumni partnered with Armstrong's Liberty Center to have a unit in the parade and a booth at the festival.

50 Years On: A Civil Rights Discussion

As part of our Diversity Celebration marking the 50th anniversary of integration, Armstrong will host a panel discussion featuring Dr. Otis Johnson and Judge Murray Silver. Hear first-hand stories about what it took to achieve integration and change the course of history.

She shared a number of great tips and gave terrific advice to help older alumni manage and expand their financial resources after retirement. Celebrating Your Big 5-0

If you were born in 1963, Armstrong wants to celebrate your birthday with a big bash on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Armstrong Center. The evening will include dinner and dancing and lots of fun reminders of 1981 - the year you turned 18. Those were the days!

Alumni Invited to Share Their Views at Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association

(March 27, 2013) The Armstrong Alumni Association will hold its Annual Meeting on Friday, May 3 at the Armstrong Center. The evening begins with a reception at 5:30 and the meeting convenes at 6:15. The agenda includes changes to the association’s bylaws and the election of new members of the Alumni Board of Directors and its officers. Nominations are being accepted through April 15.

Job Hunters Group Offers Advice, Support for Alumni Seeking Work

(March 27, 2013) Armstrong’s new Job Hunters Group offers six free events designed to help alumni and graduating seniors in their job search. Starting April 23, these Tuesday evening sessions explore a variety of topics and are led by other alumni who are experts in their fields. All of the events, which will also be available online, are free. Participants may pick and choose which sessions are most useful to their needs.
