Bachelor of Arts in English/Professional Communications

Professional communications majors build their programs upon the same foundation as English majors. Professional communications majors choose a concentration in technical and professional communication, creative writing, journalism, or film studies. Students progress to upper level courses in communication theory and applications, journalism, publication editing and design, and rhetoric. The program offers opportunities to explore creative writing, film, video production, and website authoring. In addition, students are required to complete a communications internship in a local business or industry. As with the English major, this program allows students to pursue a minor of their choice.
