Respiratory Therapy

Licensure and Certification

Licensure is required through the Georgia Composite Medical Board. A graduate must earn his/her Certified Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care in order to be eligible for a state license. Graduates of advanced therapist programs are eligible for both the entry-level (CRT), and the advanced practice Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials in respiratory care. All states except Alaska and Hawaii require respiratory care state licensure.
