
Italy: Over the Tuscan Stove
Students interested in diet, health and the culture of food will tour the Italian heartland and study the history, science, culture, and application of the Mediterranean diet. Price includes: Round-trip airfare; trip insurance; four professional lectures on the Mediterranean diet; lecture, tour and tasting of olive oils; three food and culinary demonstrations; tour of Chianti and wine tasting; a "slow food" meal; guided tour of Rome, the Vatican, the Coliseum, Roman Forum; tours in Salerno and Amalfi Coast; visit to Florence; all lodging, transportation, and breakfasts. Price does not include most lunches and dinners, and any other excursions/tours/souvenirs the student may desire. Deadline to apply: October 15, 2010 (assuming space available). Students will be notified of acceptance prior to registration for Spring semester 2013.
