Apply for Housing

Living on campus is a great way to have fun, meet new friends and get involved with activities and organizations.

New Applicants Desiring On-Campus Housing

Housing applications will be processed only after a student has been formally accepted to Armstrong. Fall assignments will be posted and student accounts charged by July first. Spring assignments will be posted and student accounts charged by November first. Assingments will be determined by the date on the applicant's housing application and application fee is received by the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

Dual enrolled students, (dual enrolled in high school and college), including those enrolled full-time, are not eligible to live on campus.

Living Learning Communities

Living Learning Communities provide first-year students with the opportunity to become part of a unique experience, with programs and resources to support the interests of the community members. As a member of a Living Learning Community, you'll have the chance to really get to know Armstrong and develop strong friendships with your fellow residents. Residents have access to many special resources, programs, and activities, such as tutors, mentoring programs, field trips, and reserved space in the first-year residence hall. To express interest in a Living Learning Community, please indicate your interest on your Housing Application.

First-Year Student Live-On Requirement

Windward Commons, an exciting first-year student residence community, opened in August 2010, is specifically designed for first-year students! Because living on campus helps students build strong academic, social and community connections, Armstrong has a first-year student live-on requirement for all first-year students. There is an exemption option for students who live within Chatham, Effingham, Liberty or Bryan counties. Learn about the first-year student residence requirements.

Transfer Students

The Office of Housing and  Residence Life understands that transferring to a new university can be a challenging transition. We believe the residential experience can greatly assist students in making the transfer process as smooth as possible. Housing and  Residence Life has communities dedicated to transfer and upper-class students. Due to Housing and  Residence Life's policy, all renewing residents get first choice of assignments during Housing and Residence Life's renewal period.
