This is the first of a five part series. Today will introduce D2L and cover some of the things that faculty can do to modify their settings, course homepages and navigation bars. Desire2Learn: Session 3

In this session, we will discuss the content tools in D2L. We will discuss how to upload an HTML file or a PDF file. We do not recommend using Word documents for your students. We will also discuss the dropox for assignments, how to set up groups, and how to use the Course Builder. Google: Next Steps with Google - ONLINE SESSION

Learn about the many different features and functions of Google Apps including Email, Calendar, Docs and much more. In this session, we will learn to create and share events, invitations, organize Email, and share Docs. All faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Turnitin: Overview and Hands on Tutorial for Instructors - ONLINE SESSION

The Office of Online and Blended Learning, and IT Services invite you to participate in a Turnitin Training session on using Turnitin with your course assignments. Turnitin is a tool to evaluate the orginality of student work. During this session, participants will be provided assistance in setting up accounts and assignments in Turnitin. We will also provide:

  • Instructor documentation
  • Student documentation to share with your students
  • Support information for instructors and students

We will guide you through setting up groups from the Course Administration tools area for private journals with each individual student using the discussions tool and/or group projects using the dropbox tool. Employee Technology Orientation

This orientation is designed to assist new and existing employees with log in and navigation of Armstrong technology applications such as shared drives, Google eMail, Lab accounts, SHIP, and Port of Armstrong.  Also discussed will be tools that support academic classes such as Armstrong Electronic Classroom, iTunes U, Turnitin, Collaborate and upcoming applications. iPad Interactive Demo Session

This iPad Workshop is designed to offer a hands-on, interactive introduction to an emerging tool and explore its potential impact for professional development and classroom activities. Please bring your iPad to this session so you can participate in the interactive portion of the session.  Please be prepared to share your favorite app with your colleagues.  (An iPad is desired but not required to participate.)
