What is the Port of Armstrong or Port?
The Port of Armstrong or Port is the secure website where the Armstrong community can connect to online academic resources, administrative services, and community information. Port does not replace the Armstrong website.
Port recognizes who you are based on your role at Armstrong and displays content accordingly. After logging in, different pages of content will be displayed for employees, faculty, and students. The portal will provide customized content for specific audiences.
What is the status of SHIP?
Port of Armstrong will replace the need to use SHIP for registration, class schedules, grades, and other resources. SHIP can still be accessed outside of the portal but will require you to remember a different user name and password (907 number and pin).
Any actions and changes that occur in Port will reflect in your current SHIP environment.
What is the status of Pirates' Cove?
As of January 14, 2013, Port of Armstrong has absorbed the resources available in Pirates’ Cove.

Where do I go to login?
The Port of Armstrong is located at http://port.armstrong.edu
How do I get a login and password?
For Students, use your current Email/Wifi username and password for Port of Armstrong.
For Faculty/Staff, use your current Novell//Wifi username and password for Port
Example: armstrge (6 letters of last name plus 2 letters of your first name)

Is the portal secure to review sensitive personal information?
Yes, the portal is a secure place to review sensitive and personal information. Port of Armstrong uses SSL encryption same as most financial services websites you typically use. The connection between your web browser and the server is encrypted.
Is there a timeout period?
Yes. After 90 minutes of inactivity within Port, you will be asked if you want to extend your session. If you do not answer this question, you will automatically be logged off the system to protect your account. Always log off the portal as soon as you are finished or when you need to leave the computer, especially at public work stations.
Do I really need to logout and close my browser when I am done?
Yes. Failure to do so on public computers like the library or computer lab could allow someone else to access your confidential information. The best way to keep your data private and secure is to click the logout button in the upper right-hand corner of the window, and then close the browser when you are finished.
How do I find my Port ID?
Lookup ID on the Port Login page is available to identify the Port ID. To look up your Port ID, you will need to enter your last name, first name, last 4 of Social Security Number and your birthdate.
How do I reset my Password?
Reset password on Port Login page is available for self-service password reset. To reset your password, you need to enter your Armstrong ID (907 number), Port ID and SHIP Pin.
a linkt to reset your SHIP Pin is also available on this page. To use the self-service SHIP Pin reset option, a secret question and answer would need to have been previously set up in SHIP. If you cannot reset SHIP Pin through self-service option, you will need to contact the Registrar's Office at 912.344.2576. The IT Services HelpDesk does not have the ability to reset SHIP Pin.
