Vice President for Business and Finance
David Carson, vice president for business and finance, came to Armstrong in the summer of 2008 bringing more than 22 years of previous experience in administrative and finance positions in the higher education sector with him. His career began in 1987 in the Internal Audit Department of Indiana University, serving first as an internal auditor and later as associate director of internal audit, followed by his position as chief accountant.
He received his bachelor of science in accounting and economics from the University of Indianapolis and holds a master's in professional accountancy from Indiana University. David is a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.), Certified Internal Auditor (C.I.A.), Certified in Financial Forensics (C.F.F.) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (C.F.E.).
In addition to his academic background and multiple certifications, David is also a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, American Association of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors and the Certified Fraud Examiners Association, as well as being a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Tax Council.
