Home-schooled Students: Admission Requirements


SAT Minimum Scores
  • Combined Score 1012 (Critical Reading and Math only)
  • Critical Reading 460
  • Math 430
ACT Minimum Scores
  • English 19
  • Math 18

University System CPC Course Credits

  • 4 Carnegie Units college preparatory English
  • literature (American, English, World) integrated with grammar, usage and advanced composition skills
  • 4 Carnegie Units college preparatory mathematics
  • algebra I and II, geometry and a fourth year of advanced algebra and trigonometry, algebra III, pre-calculus, discrete mathematics, calculus, AP calculus, statistics, IB mathematics, or analysis
  • 4 Carnegie Units college preparatory science
  • including at least one lab course from life sciences and one lab course from the physical sciences
    (Students graduating in 2012 or later must have 4 units of science.)
Social Studies
  • 3 Carnegie Units college preparatory social science
  • must include US history and world history
Foreign Language
  • 2 Carnegie Units college preparatory foreign language
  • emphasizing speaking, listening, reading, and writing

In addition to these minimum requirements, students are encouraged to take additional academic units in high school to improve their probability for admission and success. College Preparatory Courses acceptable by the University System of Georgia may be found on their website.
