Alumni Invited to Share Their Views at Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association

(March 27, 2013) The Armstrong Alumni Association will hold its Annual Meeting on Friday, May 3 at the Armstrong Center. The evening begins with a reception at 5:30 and the meeting convenes at 6:15. The agenda includes changes to the association’s bylaws and the election of new members of the Alumni Board of Directors and its officers.  Nominations are being accepted through April 15.

The Annual Meeting will be streamed live online via Armstrong’s UStream channel. It is open to all former Armstrong students; however, only active members of the Alumni Association may vote. To maintain active status, an alum must make an annual contribution of at least $35 to the Armstrong Foundation. You may check your status with the alumni office by emailing or calling 912.344.2586. If you wish to update your status, you may make a gift online or contact the office.

During the meeting, Cheryl Anderson, Armstrong’s Director of Alumni Development, will present the final draft of the Alumni Engagement Plan for 2013-2014. More than 100 alumni participated in the development of the plan since October 2012. “Everyone has been incredibly creative and enthusiastic about the future of Armstrong’s alumni programming,” says Anderson, who joined the alumni office in August 2012. “We have taken a good, hard look at our current resources and tried to build a plan that will offer something for each of our 30,000 alumni.”
